Anusha in wonderland Part -8

While going to school, Anusha asked her dad. "What is meant by quandrangle?"

"Why you are asking it?" Dad asked.

Anusha told that there is a class of quandrangles in my magic school and she doesn't know its meaning. Dad remembered about her story of magic school in dream. He laughed. He said. "OK. I shall explain.

You know triangles. They are shapes drawn with three lines. Similarly if we draw shape with 4 lines, it is called quadrilateral or like triangle, a more common name is given it as quadrangle."

" What is rectangle ?" Anusha asked again.

Dad said. " Rectangle is a special type of quadrangle. you will learn about it in higher standards. But I can tell you examples of rectangles. Shapes of door, window, table, school bag, notebook are all called as rectangles."

Anusha now could visualise quadrangles and rectangles. She felt now confident for going to that class.

In her dream, when she went to magic math school, she decided to visit class of quadrangles.

When she entered the classroom, she could see many different types of quadrangles. She could recognize rectangles, but she was not knowing other types. She got an idea to form groups of similar shapes

She asked all quadrangles to make groups by looking at similarity of shapes. Quadrangles did not find any difficulty in forming such groups.

By asking their names, she used blackboard to draw each type and wrote names of them.

Now she could find some special features of different types. Squares and rhombus had all sides equal. But square was rectangle also. She knew kite shape.

She asked all groups to wear different color dresses so that they can find their group members easily.
